Doug Lyon, CFA has provided financial management services to
individuals and corporations for over 20 years. Mr. Lyon has a
B.A. in history from Wake Forest University and an M.B.A. from Wake
Forest's Babcock Graduate School of Management. He is a
CFA charter holder.
After graduation in 1982, Mr. Lyon returned to his home town of Rochester, NY to
purchase and run Circulab, Inc. a non-invasive vascular laboratory that provided medical
testing services to physicians and their patients. Mr. Lyon purchased the business
from a local hospital, upgraded it from a management and technology standpoint, then
resold it at a profit in 1986.
From 1987 to 1989 Mr. Lyon worked as an equity analyst and
portfolio manager for a Rochester area investment management firm.
He specialized in analyzing technology stocks and managing client
portfolios. In 1989 he left the firm and established a
business consulting venture while continuing to manage personal and
family investment portfolios. Mr. Lyon founded Lyon Capital
Management in 1994.
Mr. Lyon is a member of the CFA Society of Rochester and has
served as their President. He serves on the Highland Hospital
Foundation Board. He serves on the Vestry at St. Thomas' Episcopal
Church and chairs the finance committee. He was chair of the daily ticket sales committee for the 2003 PGA Championship
at Oak Hill Country Club. And, he is the author of The Financial Statement Workbook, a guide to reading and
understanding financial statements.
Mr. Lyon is a scratch golfer, is married and has a son who is 18 years old. Mr.
Lyon resides in Penfield a suburb of Rochester, New York. |
